PLANNING ON MOVING?

Planning on moving or relocating your place of business or home? Are you dreading the amount of time and effort it is going to take to complete this task? Do I do it myself or do I hire a FULL Moving service company? There are many different options you have when deciding when and how you can get you relocation done in the least painless way possible.

For example, I can rent a truck to haul my items to my new location. Or I can pay the Local moving company to move it for me. Sometimes if you do it yourself it can be less expensive but if you do not plan right it can become costly. You might as well have a local moving company do it for you. For one, it will save your back with all the lifting you will have to do. If your back is like mine you can lift for about 2 hrs and then call it a day.

There are many Long distance and local movers out there that you can call and get more information on or you can go on the internet and can get instant moving quotes from full service moving companies in your area. Trust me, sometimes it may cost just a little more to save you a lot of time and effort.

OBSTACLES OF MOVING YOUR CONTENTS

Another obstacle that comes with moving is packing moving boxes. Go out and get yourself a permanent marker (black) from the local Online Drugstore. The best way to get organized for this is to start planning ahead on which items will be needed to be packed and then try to sort out the items that you may want to throw away or better yet give to some local charities such as St. Vincent DePaul.

Remember one mans garbage is another mans treasure

I would sort out the smallest items first such as kid's toys and possible plates and silverware. Then work on to the bigger and bolder items such as clothes, shoes, and bathroom supplies. By getting the smaller items packed first you will actually feel less bombarded with the question of where do I start? Make sure you label each moving box with the correct items it has inside. Trust me, if you don't the last part of the move will be worse than the beginning.

Finally, you can have most of the smaller items packed and the moving company can place those items in the moving truck first, then you can have them move the more bulky stuff last to save your back such as tables, chairs, beds, couches. Remember SAVE YOUR BACK! That's why you are paying this moving company to do the hard work for you.

NOW THAT THE BOXES ARE PACKED...

Finally, once you have all the moving boxes and furniture placed in the moving truck, you can start your final journey to your new location. Once you are at this step of your move it is still not a cake walk but it is pretty much almost all downhill from this point. The next part is basically unpacking the moving and storage boxes and I would designate a couple people to be the furniture movers. If you have hired the correct moving company, they should have this already planned to make it easier for you. Have the people place the moving boxes in the proper rooms. Here is where the labeling of the moving boxes comes in. If you have labeled the boxes correctly you can basically have someone tell the movers which room to place the boxes in so that later on they can be opened and placed in the proper areas.

Well you are almost finished with your move. Now the only hard part of the move is settling in. By now all of your bigger furniture items should be in the same area that you would like to permanently keep them but have enough space to move them around as you see fit. I always adjust the furniture around first and get that pretty much settled because it will open up some more room to walk by and also make you feel like you have accomplished a lot more then you think. After the furniture is pretty much set up to your liking you can start focusing on unpacking those stacks and stacks of moving boxes. Hopefully, if you took my advice earlier and labeled all the moving boxes properly this should go by pretty quickly. Again place the silverware and plates in the kitchen drawers and that way some boxes will be out of the way and the house will feel less cluttered. Then work on the clothes, and place them in the closets and then work your way to all the other boxes and by this time you should be a little relieved that you are basically moved in and the only thing you may have to do is throw away the moving boxes and possibly assembly some beds and rearrange the rest of your furniture.

Moving can be very long and stressful. But if you plan right and get yourself a reputable moving company, it will make your job that much easier. Moving is something that everyone will have to learn to get through one day. But if you plan right, take it step by step and don't get too overwhelmed and just remember that once this is finished you will be able to enjoy your new business or home to the fullest.
