Your "wheels", your "ride" even your "baby". For some, they are a necessary piece of equipment, but for others, cars are often our identity. Just as with any move, the transfer of a car to another, far away destination can be a major undertaking. Knowing what to expect, and how to care for your vehicle can make the process less daunting. First, it's wise to schedule your auto shipping about 4 weeks before your move. Next, you'll need to determine the mode of transport your relocation moving services will use. There are two types.
Open carriers versus enclosed: The open carrier method is less costly, but the large open trailers can subject your car to dust, sand, and other elements. Enclosed transport will run you more, but this mode will help protect the exterior of your vehicle.
The preparation

Take pictures of each section of your car and attach copies to the report. Be sure to date the photos, and keep copies of them, and the report for safekeeping.
Accepting delivery
Once your auto has arrived, take the time to go over it in great detail. Don't simply look around the outside- check under the hood, and under the body of the car. Reference your photos and notes and be absolutely certain it is in the same condition as when it left. If possible, take delivery of your auto in the daytime, or in an open, well-lit area so that you can give an accurate assessment of its condition.
